Job Description

Translated is where technology and humanity meet to create global understanding. Founded in 1999 by a linguist and a computer scientist, we are on a mission to allow everyone to understand and be understood in their own language.

We envision a world where people from different cultures can communicate seamlessly, with unprecedented access to knowledge, cultural exchange, and business opportunities.

To make this possible, we combine a network of over 500,000 vetted, native-speaking language professionals with a unique translation AI, Lara, capable of recognizing its limits and explaining its choices. Through an ecosystem of AI-powered translation tools ( Matecat , Matesub , and Matedub ), an enterprise localization platform ( TranslationOS ), and an online translator ( Lara Translate ), we support more than 400,000 clients in 200 languages, helping people and organizations connect across cultures.

Everything we build reflects a simple principle: technology should amplify human potential, not replace it. Whether through a marketing campaign, an event, or a new process, every project at Translated contributes to a larger purpose: bringing people closer together through understanding.

At Translated, you’ll join an international, collaborative environment where curiosity, creativity, and excellence are valued as much as results.

We believe in humans.

Translated is looking for an experienced Canadian French Contracted Translator to work on translation and review projects on a daily basis for our top clients in the digital space.

As a contracted translator, you will be assigned to 3 or more Enterprise translation accounts. Following training and onboarding you will receive a continuous flow of translation requests throughout the month to be completed, leading to an agreed and set monthly word count.

Responsibilities

  • Accept and complete translation and review projects assigned to you within the indicated deadline, completing a total set number of words per month
  • Complete each translation and review project according to the client’s preferred style, terminology and instructions
  • Deliverables must meet set quality standards (agreed KPIs regarding the number of errors in every 1000 words delivered).
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Managers and Quality Managers on your availability and individual project status

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Canadian French (mother tongue) and English
  • Excellent computer and web skills
  • Proven working knowledge of CAT tools
  • Proven experience and knowledge of the Antidote QA tool (license fees covered by Translated for the duration of the contract)
  • Proven experience in the role of translator/proofreader for 1 or more large international brands
  • Preferred University studies in translation

Candidates will be required to take a translation test.

Contracted monthly hours: 80 (part time).

Headquarters

Translated is hosted at Pi Campus, a working environment immersed in nature where 5 luxury villas in Rome (Italy) have been converted into functional offices to foster talent growth. Pi Campus is also a venture firm created by Translated to reinvest part of its profits into promising AI startups.

Diversity Statement

At Translated, we proudly embrace and celebrate each individual's unique qualities to our team, regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other differences. We recognize that these diverse perspectives empower us to overcome challenges, foster innovation, and drive excellence. As an inclusive and equal-opportunity employer, we are committed to cultivating an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential.
