Job Title: Pathologist Assistant
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift: 09:00 AM – 05:00 PM
Pay: $65–$75/hr
Job Summary:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Pathologist Assistant to support the Surgical Pathology department in specimen handling, gross examination, and other pathology procedures. This temporary assignment offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in a clinical laboratory setting while collaborating closely with pathologists and lab staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist pathologists with gross examination of surgical specimens
Prepare, document, and maintain pathology specimens following departmental protocols
Participate in processing and accessioning of specimens
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of samples
Maintain accurate and timely documentation
Adhere to departmental and hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
Required:
NYS Licensure as a Pathologist Assistant
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a Pathologist Assistants program or equivalent recognized by NYS Education Department
0–3 years of related experience in pathology
Preferred:
Fellow of the American Association of Pathologists’ Assistants (AAPA)
ASCP certification
