Job Description

The Cumberland River Quarry in Salem, Kentucky is currently recruiting for a Plant Mechanic.

Plant Mechanic-Classification Description:

• Weld in flat position
• Use a torch with a straight tip
• Replace rollers on conveyors
• Flexco a belt
• Replace drive belts on a conveyor and tighten correctly
• Read a tape measure
• Run drill press to drill liners
• Maintain tools and equipment/service truck
• Weld in flat, vertical and overhead position
• Use a torch with a straight and scarfing tip and know what tip size to use
• Signed off Gradalls/man lifts
• Operate a track torch
• Lay out drill pattern on liners
• Train a belt
• Maintain a good attendance record, have a good attitude towards the job, be responsible for minimal to no property damage incidents. (All incidents are subject to review by management)
• Complete job duties to the satisfaction of their supervisor
• Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions no matter the material/thickness
• Use an air arc or the lance
• Have some understanding of the mechanics of the crushers/shakers
• The ability to hear a noise at plants and know you have an issue
• Fabricate
• Replace drive belts on crushers/shakers and tighten correctly
• Keep work area clean after job is complete
• Must be self-motivated
  
  
  
  Basic Requirements:

• Do you have the ability and desire to work 12-hour shifts?
• Do you have the willingness and flexibility to work weekend or overtime as needed?
• Do you have the ability to do manual labor including lifting items as heavy as 50 pounds?
• Do you have the ability and desire to work during inclement conditions including extreme heat and cold?
• Do you have the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and preform repetitive bending and stooping when required?
• Do you possess excellent communication skills and work well with all personnel at the Quarry?
• Are you motivated and a self-starter?
• Interested employees must be in current classification for 12 months before applying
• If awarded position, employee must stay in this new position for at least 12 months before applying for a new position
