Temple University's School of Medicine is searching for a part-time Research Assistant!

Salary Range : $21.00/hr.

Position Summary:

The Research Assistant is an entry-level, part time position that provides data management and administrative support for research projects at the Center for Asian Health (CAH). Under direction of the Principal Investigator, data manager, and program coordinators, the role supports data cleaning, data quality checks, database maintenance through REDCap and other data platforms, ensuring that projects achieve their goals and objectives in a timely manner. The incumbent also assists in community outreach, participant/patient recruitment, data collection, process tracking, and have liaison responsibilities with CAH partners. This role is well-suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, quick leaners, and interested in gaining experience in health research data operations.

Required Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's Degree or training in related field and at least one year of experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Detail oriented with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

* Ability to work under supervision

* Ability to conduct research collaboratively

* Proficiency in working with diverse populations

Preferred Education and Experience:

* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

* Ability to learn new software and procedures quickly

* Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Google Workspace or equivalent)

* Ability to follow detailed instructions and work with structured data

* Strong organizational and time-management skills

* Ability to handle confidential information responsibly

* Experience with or coursework involving REDCap or similar data systems

* Experience with data entry, database management, or administrative data support

* Familiarity with basic data quality checks or research workflows

Essential Duties:

Support in Data Management

* Review data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy; identify and flag discrepancies

* Assist with routine data cleaning and basic quality assurance checks

* Maintain organized electronic files and data documentation following study protocols

* Enter research data accurately and efficiently into REDCap and other project databases

Database and Systems Support

* Assist with developing and maintaining REDCap projects, including form updates, variable checks, and user testing (training provided)

* Follow data management protocols, naming conventions, and version control procedures

* Support secure handling of confidential and protected health information (PHI)

Project and Administrative Support

* Assist with preparing data reports, logs, and tracking spreadsheets

* Support project staff with routine administrative tasks related to data workflows

* Assist with documentation for IRB and study compliance as directed

Collaboration & Learning

* Work closely with research staff to understand study protocols and data requirements

* Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data management

* Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required* Performs other duties as assigned

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
