Location: Remote

Job Type: Contractor, full-time

Travel: Remote, with limited national travel (3–5 trips per year)

Reports to: Director of Research

Cardiovascular disease is the single largest contributor to premature death and disability in the world. At Cardiovascular Associates of America (CVAUSA), we are dedicated to delivering the highest quality cardiovascular care and to advancing scientific discovery through clinical research, including randomized trials and observational and health outcomes research. As we build our clinical programs and our national network of cardiovascular clinical trials, we are seeking passionate team members who are committed to advancing cardiovascular science and improving patient access to innovative therapies.

Cardiovascular Associates of America (CVAUSA) and Cardiovascular Research Solutions (CVRS)

CVAUSA is the nation’s largest network of community-based cardiology practices. Through Cardiovascular Research Solutions (CVRS), CVAUSA supports and accelerates cardiovascular clinical research across its national footprint—partnering with practices, sponsors, and CROs to bring innovative therapies to patients while advancing evidence-based cardiovascular care. CVRS plays a central role in launching new trials, supporting new research sites, developing strategic partnerships, and building scalable infrastructure to support our high-performing, multisite cardiovascular research network.

Position Summary

The Research Project Manager is a central research operations role responsible for providing project management leadership for complex initiatives across Cardiovascular Research Solutions. Reporting to the Director of Research, this individual will manage and coordinate projects related to clinical trial startup, sponsor and CRO partnerships, new research initiatives, vendor implementation, meetings and conferences, and other network-wide research activities.

This role serves as a key organizer, coordinator, and driver of execution—ensuring that research initiatives are well planned, aligned across stakeholders, and delivered on time. The Research Project Manager will work closely with CVAUSA research leadership, practice research teams, sponsors, CROs, and vendors to support the successful launch and execution of late-stage cardiovascular clinical trials across a growing national network.

The ideal candidate has strong experience in multisite clinical research project management, a solid understanding of late-stage trials, and thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project management leadership for both straightforward initiatives and complex, cross-functional research initiatives within Cardiovascular Research Solutions.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for initiatives spanning trial startup, site onboarding, vendor implementation, and strategic research programs.

  • Track progress, risks, and dependencies; proactively identify and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule.

  • Support coordination across research leadership, operations, legal, finance, and external partners to ensure aligned execution.

  • Assist with planning and execution of new vendor partnerships and technology implementations that support research operations.

  • Organize and support research-related meetings, including sponsor meetings, internal planning sessions, weekly team meetings, and conferences.

  • Manage calendars, agendas, meeting materials, action items, and follow-up communications.

  • Prepare project updates, summaries, and materials for research leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Contribute to initiatives designed to scale Cardiovascular Research Solutions as the network continues to grow.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 3–5+ years of experience in project management within a multisite clinical research network, CRO, sponsor, or academic research organization.

  • Solid understanding of late-stage (Phase II–IV) clinical trial organization and startup processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational, communication, PowerPoint, and problem-solving skills.

  • Adept at using project management software platforms such as Monday.com, Wrike, or similar tools.

Preferred

  • Experience in cardiovascular clinical research.

  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAPM) is a plus.

Key Attributes

  • Passionate about clinical research and improving patient access to innovative therapies.

  • High energy, high integrity, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused.

  • Strong communicator with the ability to coordinate across diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building structure and processes that scale.

Why Join Cardiovascular Associates of America

This role offers a unique opportunity to help build and scale one of the nation’s largest community-based cardiovascular research networks. You will work alongside a mission-driven central research team while supporting practices on the front lines of patient care. At CVAUSA, your work will directly influence how efficiently trials are launched, how successfully sites are supported, and how quickly innovative cardiovascular therapies reach patients. This is not just project management—this is building the infrastructure that enables the future of cardiovascular clinical research.
