Located in a historic countryside home in   Southold, Long Island , the restaurant offers an intimate, seasonal dining experience rooted in exceptional hospitality.

JF Restaurants is seeking passionate and motivated Server Assistants to join our team!

About the Role

The Server Assistant plays a vital support role within the Front of House team, combining the responsibilities of a Back Server and Food Runner. This position ensures seamless service by supporting Servers, delivering food from the kitchen, maintaining table standards, and helping create an exceptional guest experience through efficiency, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support Servers throughout service to ensure polished, attentive, and efficient guest experiences

• Deliver food orders promptly and accurately from the kitchen to guests, ensuring proper presentation and temperature

• Communicate clearly with Servers, the kitchen, and expo to ensure order accuracy and accommodate special requests or allergies

• Assist with clearing, pre-bussing, and resetting tables between courses and after guest departure

• Refill water and beverages as needed

• Deliver bread service, amuse-bouche, and other table accompaniments with care and timing

• Describe dishes to guests when needed, including ingredients and modifications

• Stock and maintain service stations with silverware, glassware, napkins, and condiments

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining rooms, service stations, expo areas, and floors

• Assist with end-of-service breakdown and resetting of the dining room

• Handle hot plates, service trays, and high-volume service safely and efficiently

• Maintain a proactive, team-oriented mindset during busy shifts

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred but not required

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude

• High attention to detail and commitment to hospitality excellence

• Ability to take direction and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

• Professional demeanor and positive attitude

• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs

• Ability to carry, balance, and safely handle service trays and hot items

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
