This Position reports to:
Maintenance Supervisor

Performs machining operations on a variety of machines to make parts to specification. Design, build and assemble jigs, fixtures, gauges and machines with pneumatic and hydraulics. Develop skills in die preventative maintenance, repair, design and builds.

• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machine, shaper and grinder to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specification.
• Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or worktable. Mate, fit and tram, flat and contoured surfaces, plus assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.
• Verifies dimensions, alignments and clearances.
• Examines standard or previously used dies, tools and jigs and fixtures and recommends design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
• Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and die draws or sketches design of product.

Education and/or Experience :

Minimum associate's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, completion of a four-year apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
